Hydraulic Tipper for 1000 Litre Bins This Hydraulic Tipper is designed to lift and tip a 1000 Litre Bin at a height of 1000mm and has a Safe Working Load of 1000 Kgs. The Hydraulic Tipper is constructed from Grade 304 stainless steel and is a fully TIG welded construction throughout. This Hydraulic Tipper would be powered via a hydraulic powerpack and would tip the container by the extension of a pair of stainless steel hydraulic cylinders to an angle of 30 degrees past the horizontal. The hydraulic cylinders are fitted with hydraulic fuses to prevent the bin from falling in the unlikely event of a hose failure. Prior to tipping bins it was necessary for the plastic bin liner to be pulled out over the edge of the bin on all four sides. The bin would then be loaded to the Hydraulic Tipper and when the ‘UP’ pushbutton is depressed the tipping chute is hydraulically clamped down to make a near seal around the top edge of the bin. This chute then creates a pouring spout to direct the produce being tipped into two streams through the ‘Trouser Leg Chute’ and into the tote bins. The bottom of the plastic liner was retained in the bottom of the bin by a set of 4 off probes which were lowered into the bin prior to tipping commencing. Safety Guard To PD 5304 Safety of Machinery The safety guard is constructed from 40 x 40 x 3mm stainless steel box section and 3mm wire, 40mm aperture stainless steel weld mesh to meet the requirements of PD 5304 Safety of Machinery. It would enclose the Hydraulic Tipper to a height of 2200mm on two sides, 1000mm at the front with a hinged door on the fourth side. The guard door is electrically and mechanically interlocked preventing the Hydraulic Tipper from operating with the door open. In addition, the guard door can only be opened when the lifting carriage is at the full down position. Hydraulic Tipper Application StoryThis Hydraulic Tipper was used to decant a 1000 Litre Bin of Tomato Juice into 200 Litre Tote Bins to be loaded into cooking vessels. The Plastic Bin Liner was clamped and the bag retaining probes were lowered into the bin before tipping. The product was tipped through a dividing chute and into tote bins mounted below.
