BTM/250/2260/B Single Pillar Bin Hoist
This Single Pillar Bin Hoist is designed to lift and tip at a discharge height of 2260mm. The Bin Hoist is manufactured from Grade 304 stainless steel and is a welded construction throughout. The lifting is achieved by a ¾” Simplex chain driven by a motor gearbox mounted at the top of the main column. The Bin Hoist is fitted with our unique safety latch which engages automatically in the extremely unlikely event of a lift chain failure.
The Bin Hoist will be fitted with an intermediate transfer hopper into which the contents of the Bin Hoist will be tipped. The outlet of the intermediate hopper will be to suit the 480mm ID hatch and it will be angled to suit. The intermediate hopper will hinge out of position to allow access to the vessel for hygiene purposes and to allow the hopper to be cleaned. To gain access to this area, there will be a set of mobile steps that will wheel into position at the base of the tipper. To wheel the steps into position, the operator must first lift a hinged retaining bar across the entrance to the tipper. As soon as the retaining bar is lifted a magnetic switch will be activated preventing the Bin Hoist from running. Once the cleaning operation has been completed, the steps are removed and the retaining bar hinged back into place. The bin will still be able to be loaded underneath the retaining bar. On placement of an order, the exact details of the hopper, steps and interlocks will be determined.
Bin Hoist Electrical Control
This Bin Hoist is fitted with an IP65 Stainless Steel Control Panel which is mounted on the main column at a convenient position to give good maintenance access under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulation 1998 (PUWER). The unguarded Bin Hoist has ‘dead man’s handle’ control such that the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ pushbuttons must be held for the Bin Hoist to operate. As soon as the button is released, the Bin Hoist will stop. There will be two separate interlocks which must both be in a healthy condition for the Bin Hoist to run. The first will ensure that the hopper is in its correct position and the second will ensure that the steps have been fully removed. The control panel has the facility for a ‘Call to Run’ signal to be connected if required.
