BTM/2P/250/6750/B/G Double Pillar Tobacco Box Tipper This Tobacco Box Tipper is designed to lift and tip a Tobacco Container (1175mm L x 989mm W x 990mm H) weighing 250 Kgs to tip 160° at a discharge height of 6750mm. The Tobacco Box Tipper is constructed from mild steel with a powder coated finish and is designed to be bolted to the floor. The lifting is accomplished via chains driven by a motor gearbox mounted at the bottom of the one column with a crossover shaft to the other column. The Tobacco Box Tipper had a maximum tip angle of 160 degrees. The lift and tip cycle was 95 seconds using an Inverter to accelerate the lift speed during the vertical parts of the travel both up and down. Safety Guard to BS EN 14120:2015 Safety of Machinery Guards This Tobacco Box Tipper was supplied complete with a safety guard to meet the guidelines of BS EN 14120:2015 Safety of Machinery Guards. The safety guard is constructed from 40 x 40 x 3mm box section and 40 x 40mm aperture, 3mm wire weld mesh which encloses the Tobacco Box Tipper to a height of 7200mm on three sides and 6000mm at the tipping position. At the loading position there was a side guard each side and a Safety Light Barrier. Tobacco Box Tipper Electrical Control This Tobacco Box Tipper is fitted with an IP65 Control Panel which is mounted on the Safety Guard at a convenient position to give good maintenance access under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulation 1998 (PUWER). The control panel incorporated the following controls; Up, Down, Guard Release, Emergency Stop and a Reset Facility. Upper and Lower end of travel limit switches are positioned to prevent inadvertent adjustment or damage but are easily adjustable by trained personnel for fine adjustment on site. Once a bin was loaded and the Start operated, the Tobacco Box Tipper cycle was automatic lifting to the Intermediate Limit Switch position. The rest of the tipping action was controlled by a ‘call to run’ signal from the master control system. If the tipper was receiving a ‘call to run’ signal when it reached the Intermediate Limit Switch position, it continued to the Full Up position and paused at full up for an Engineer adjustable time. Once the product had been discharged, and the pause time expired, the Tobacco Box Tipper returned to the Full Down position. The control panel has a volt free pair of contacts which is used to connect the ‘Call to Run’ signal.
